There Was a Cute Girl in the Hero's Party, So I Tried Confessing to Her
Rated: 7/10 ⭐️
I expected a generic fantasy, but this was a charming, goofy comfort watch.
What Worked:
The oil paint textured backgrounds give the visual blocking a cozy aesthetic I totally vibed with. Through my Methodist faith lens, seeing Yoki use his demon power to secretly heal rather than conquer beautifully reminds me that true strength is found in extending grace. Also, the director perfectly framed Yoki’s awkward, wholesome “foes-to-lovers” dynamic.
The Cuts:
The middle part really dragged for me as the slow-burn romance gets formulaic, making side-quests feel like padding. Keeping it spoiler-free, the isekai angle felt totally tacked on: he could've just been a regular demon. Finally, rough character animation made the visuals feel mixed against those gorgeous painted backgrounds.
Verdict:
A solid, relaxing watch that completely exceeds its long title. Great for a comfy romance, but skip if you need high-stakes action.
Favorite Line: “I’ll wait until tomorrow, then ask you again.”

Yoki is such s goofy guy I love it. And Black magic whatever is played so good it is annoying as it should be.
Reincarnated guy ends up being the strongest demon in the realm but he starts to like a girl from the hero's party. So transforms and tries to go out with her?
