Way more character focused than I thought rather than a traditional action movie. Carried by Phoenix’s remarkable performance.

Had its moments but was very slow and a bit weird

The movie was well done. My only gripe about it is the pacing was a little TOO slow. I understand that was likely the point, but it made the viewing experience lethargic.

you know, i’m not sure. joaquin is awesome, but that’s a given. the story itself really threw me for a loop. it was a weird one. i can’t say i liked it, but i don’t necessarily think it’s bad.

It was good. Little hard to follow but you kind of understand it and still enjoy it somehow?

Odd movie. I like the theme tho. And the cinematography was insane. Loved the weirdness and pace. Ending threw me tf off so bad 😂. We all know what this movie is about and it’s insane that it really goes on. I rate this a 7.5/10

Holy fuck, man…

I think I enjoyed this film? The story was kind of fragmented. It’s shown in many pieces. Some of which, are never explained. Because of this, the first two acts of the film feel quite uneventful. We don’t get many details about “what the heck we are doing,” in the words of Joe.

man oh man. i really thought this gonna be a good one. it has all the makings to be a good movie. It feels like “Joker” without all the boldness or flair.
Throughout the movie there is a reoccurring flashback of “Joe” during his time in the military of him and it’s very traumatic apparently, but they never show specifically what all happened, and one part they show twice but never explain what was going on.
Also there was way too many slow, non-eventful scenes that really kill the pacing. And they try to do too many plot twists at the end that I kinda gave up caring.

it was good, can see why phoenix was nominated for an award. i think it could’ve done a bit more surrounding back story

astounding in visual- and sounddesign. leaves you on the edge of the seat. there’s not a lot of dialogue which fits the narrative of the movie perfectly, the story gets told through pure acting, the beautifully shot pictures and through the music chosen. Shocks you near the end

Holy cow what a crazy movie with mind blowing scenes. Great gritty performance for JP and it just felt so different
