A movie that’s oddly relevant today. With online dating and meeting people online becoming more and more prevalent and regular, this film reminds us of the incongruities that can come along with such regularities. With a believable romance and lovable characters. 10/10 romcom.

So captivating to watch - a 90’s rom com set in nyc with love, and these wonderful actors - an instant classic, yet hugely problematic and manipulative.

Kathleen loses her beloved shop with its connection to her mother and its delightful family/employees. Joe loses nothing.

Rating: 7.3/10

You've Got Mail is a quintessential 90s classic and a masterful romantic comedy. The film showcases the legendary chemistry between Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, with a witty and charming screenplay that perfectly captures the excitement of the nascent internet age.

Highlights
- Legendary Chemistry: Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan's on-screen chemistry is undeniable, making their "enemies-to-lovers" romance a joy to watch.
- Witty Screenplay: The script is a brilliant modernization of a classic story, with sharp dialogue and a compelling plot.
- Romanticized NYC: Nora Ephron's direction creates a beautifully romanticized version of New York City, filled with warmth and humor.

Criticisms
- Predictable Plot: The plot follows the rom-com formula, making it predictable and lacking in surprises.
- Problematic Dynamic: The central dynamic, where Joe manipulates Kathleen online, can be viewed as ethically questionable and creepy by modern standards.
