went into this thinking something along the lines of challengers. you know. but god what a smart and depressing movie. so fun and miserable and beautiful. fell in love with it really. god. probably a new favorite of all time

This is not the usual movie I am used to. Very surprising, shocking, unpredictable, erotic, tragic, happy and sad. This story is more about a friendship and it was presented quite dramatically but truly. It reminded me “Saltburn” movie.

Y Tu Mamá También is inspired by American road movies and also by teen films like American Pie. The cinematography is excellent, and the dialogue feels natural and well written.

My only issue was that I had a hard time understanding where the film was going at first. It has some funny moments, but there are also parts that felt slow and a little boring.

The story develops quite well throughout the film, but the unexpected ending leaves you with a strange sense of emptiness and makes you reflect on everything that happened before.
