Hands down my favourite zombie film of all time. From the well written story about finding a way to fight back to Gerry getting back to his family. The performance from the cast is excellent and the way the zombies were created to something that we have never seen before. 8.5/10

8/10 - great plot, executed well, had a couple of jump scares that got me. Only drawback is that it was a little long and Brad Pitt had a mom hair cut — still good though. Would watch again.

I know it’s full of issues, but I love this film so much. For everything World War Z falters on, it gets three things right in its place.

It’s just a seriously fun zombie flick. Great zombie lore, fantastic set pieces and solid character work. The main theme is a such a tune; I’m bopping my head every time it kicks in. This movie really shouldn’t be as good as it considering all the development and production hell it went through, but the team made it work.

Brad Pitt is such a movie star, effortlessly cool and always gives a stellar performance without ever phoning it in. The supporting cast are great too, the film opting to make roles out of unexpected side characters in ways which I think adds to the unpredictability of an apocalypse.

This is an all-timer zombie film for me. I’ve seen this countless times over the years, first on 3D Blu-ray when it came out (wasn’t old enough for cinema) and I’m still watching it now on a 4k Blu-ray re-release - great stuff!
