wish it focused more on the victims rather than cheryl considering she wasn’t even a victim. like i understand why they had to talk about it since he was labeled as “the dating show killer” but i would’ve liked more background info about the victims instead of cheryl’s life

Leave it to a woman to truely show how terrifying a serial killer really is. It wasn’t like all these other movies. This one showed how charismatic one can/ has to be to get away with stuff like this. I’ve seen a tons and none have hit me in my core quite like this one.

the way I hated just about every man in this movie lmao. no but seriously, this movie had me so on edge. it's disgusting that this was an actual man, and there are more out there like him. the girl who arrested him was so strong, I don't even know what I'd do in that situation.

It was a very interesting way to depict a serial killer film, but since I’m not a true crime fan I was rather confused until the end when they finally explained this movie was based on real events. Anna Kendrick’s role felt much larger than it needed to be, and the constant jumping from one victim to the next and then back again made me question the timeline.
Personally, I have never been a big fan of flattery or super charismatic men because I find it rather cheesy and insincere, but I can understand how it could cause many young women to put their guards down and think these people are genuine. It’s scary to know that even going onto a dating show (or dating app) doesn’t keep you safe from the sick bastards out in the world.
I think it was very important to show how these creeps get away with taking or killing their victims, and especially Alcala’s hobby of taking photos of the girls as an intro into talking to/killing them will help many people identify worrying signs in others.
The movie overall needed some work, but it definitely got the message across; Don’t trust anyone.

Rather slow, but I liked the vibe of the movie.

Pretty messed up but a nice warning to young women. I wish we didn’t live in a world like this.
