reeeeeally liked this. the replica of the town was used beautifully in the film

One of my biggest takeaways was just how much times have changed when it comes to what police are willing to let a victim’s family do during an active investigation.

Watching Crystal’s family create fake MySpace profiles, communicate directly with people connected to the case, gather information, and essentially conduct their own undercover investigation was wild. I kept thinking there is NO WAY law enforcement would be comfortable with a family getting this involved today.

The whole thing is messy, emotional, and at times completely chaotic, but that’s also what made it so interesting. You have a grieving family desperate for answers basically using early social media to hunt for the people responsible before anyone really understood what social media would become.

Definitely an interesting true-crime watch, and also a bizarre little time capsule of the MySpace era. Some of the things happening in this investigation had me wondering, “Wait… the police are actually letting them do this?!”

Good documentary, this story is heartbreaking I was kinda scared about what would Belinda do next the whole time, she went ballistic.

While this documentary has a resolution which brings the story to a close circle, the entire time it was hard to tell who’s POV we were intended to understand, being that the film was short it was just not an easy situation to understand.

I had actually been avoiding this movie because it looked too sad- but a friend said they thought I’d like it and watched it with me!!! Don’t worry, the second and third time watching this resulted in less tears than the first one!!! Sadly, the jumps scares get you every time!!!🥲

4.9 - If you really love true crime docs, maybe it’s worth its really short runtime. But it’s just a super basic murder investigation story without anything too unique or surprising. The MySpace angle was its best hook but I’ve seen better “social media” solved it stories.

Just happy it ends with a full resolution.
