Greatest movie of all time. J.K Simmons is one of the greatest actors of all time and playes his roll perfectly. Miles Teller is just as good too and you can really see the dedication he had to the roll. The pacing through the movie was amazing. and the scenes were the best ever.

Whiplash leaves you with one question. Does the end justify the means? Is what our protagonist endures a necessary process in order to achieve the highest level of success. Or is it a path that has led him to lose himself and fall deeper into a one sided abusive relationship.

A really brutal but necessary reminder of what it takes to be the best.

the film's depiction of music education is unrealistic and that the methods used by the main character's instructor would not be effective in real life. Itโs also the most overrated film ever

This movie is structured very similarly to Black Swan in the sense they are both about obsessive performers seeking greatness in the arts and abused by their couches in the process. Both performers reach said goals at the cost of their sanity.

Damien Chazelle simply doesnโt miss. J.K. Simmons was born to play this type of character. A must watch for any fan of film. Chazelleโs way of telling stories through music is something that is unparalleled. La La Land and Babylon are slightly better but itโs still amazing

Realistic movie about the dedication to what you love and the effort it takes to succeed. But utterly depressing.

What does it mean to be great? I loved Whiplash because Damien Chazelle highlights the blood, sweat and tears that come along with pure devotion to oneโs craft; the hard work when nobodyโs there to pat you on the shoulder. The final sceneโฆwow.

Whiplash
Like a reverse of Ex-Drummer, but where the band leader intentionally reveals his sociopathy. Ironic to see people call a man who hides behind insults cruel, and not the writer who believes his band so mentally inferior, he thinks he can harm or even kill them when the timeโs up.

This was a fantastic movie. The music was amazing and JK Simmons was absolutely terrifying. He went from being so mean to nice to cruel. Iโm not surprised he won an Oscar for this.
My favorite character: Terrence Fletcher
My favorite scene: probably the end or first practice

AMAZING MOVIE!! JK Simmons played his role to perfection and really made this movie great. Every single one of his scenes were filled with high tension and emotion to the viewer. Wouldnโt be nearly as good without him
