Whale Rider Reviews

This was really beautiful even from someone who has zero knowledge of Māori culture. Pai was so obviously a chief from the beginning and the side characters were charming with real personalities

Was great, the grandpa sucks tho

A childhood film that wasn’t necessarily a favorite, but I understand it more as an adult. Love how it explores indigenous identity and spiritual beliefs. Just didn’t make me as emotional as I would’ve liked.
