We Live in Time

As much as I love a nonlinear plot progression, I think this movie would have affected me more if I saw the events in the order they happened. Build me up, break me down, give me hope, and then absolutely demolish my spirit. I personally think it would have worked better that way

Whoever cast together two of the most likeable and dedicated actors is a genius. A gutwrenching love story about life, death and the time in between. It's not okay to do this to me. There's so much realism within the characters, the type that makes you laugh for how cringe or bittersweet moments are. All of it drenched in depression. Peter Parker and Yelena Belova, this is how I'd imagine it. I'd recommend watching it with someone because you really do feel the stark loneliness, even at baby showers. Plus it's a little long and the confusing timeline makes you focus on other things.

Saw this and thought it would be fitting to rewatch being it was nearly two years to the day where I saw this at London Film Festival - and I’m going again tomorrow!

I think there’s something really special about this film that transcends being just a “Rom-Com”. It fits the bill, covers the ground you want and need it to, but it all feels elevated in a way which makes it all far more heartfelt and much more earned. Fantastic, heartbreaking story, a really effective non-linear approach to narrative. More than competently shot, beautiful score - it’s a complete package!

Andrew and Florence are wondrously good together. Fantastic performers in their own right, but their chemistry is truly palpable and you lose yourself in their relationship and that problems within it.

The birth scene on New Years Eve remains one of my favourites of 2024 - chaotic, yet professionally captured and beautiful.
