Watchmen: Chapter II Reviews

I've already forgotten what happened in the first chapter so it would have been nice to include callbacks. The live-action version seems even better now that I've seen 2 of these. I expected this to be worthwhile as it requires a mature audience. Unfortunately, it lacks in animation and storytelling more than the first. Most of the runtime is slow and pointless character-building with about 10 minutes worth of obliviously flat plot points. I got tired of hearing the same overcomplicated, monotone dialogue with underwhelming results. The clearly unappreciated score needed to be used more. Is that it?

Same review as my last one, everything's the same just tried to not offend anyone anymore, the minor change in ending didn't make much sense this time since it was only New York, and overall I wouldn't say it was an improvement, still okay, but the original will always be better

I am still upset they cut out many segments of the comic that it feels like they either should have fully adopted the comic or not at all

Honestly worse than the first part. Twist at the end was sort of predictable and Dr. Manhattan is sooooooo boring and annoying to listen to the whole time. Too much focus on weird love story that started the second she left her relationship. Overall blahhhhh

This doesn’t even come close to the previous adaptations of the novel.

not a huge fan of this animation style but still an enjoyable adaptation of the story, from memory i liked this part more that chapter 1 but tbh it’s been a while, i also think the story was told better than the 2009 movie

A fantastic Animated finale that embraces the comic’s surprising ending.

a faithful and effective adaptation that comes much closer to the heights of the source material than the 2009 movie could

Give this film a 7.8/10 ⭐️

I love the story, but other than the fact that it’s animated, it’s mostly a shot for shot remake of the OG
