absolutely phenomenal animated short film, one of the best i’ve ever seen. made me feel a wide range of emotions and told an incredibly unique, equal parts heartfelt and harrowing story. this team deserves immense praise

I can tell that this short was just not really for me. I can see what it’s trying to do and I respect it some, but I also just didn’t find it super engaging.

6.1 - I’m realizing now on ranking & reviewing how truly neck & neck most of this year’s Oscar Animated Shorts are for me.

This one was weird & uncomfortable, but I usually like that.

The world it builds (or destroys) in a very quick & efficient way is an interesting one. It blends the whimsical nature of children’s shows with the horror of death & decay & the melancholy of life lost.

I just wanted more. I wanted more of their world, more on these characters, more on what’s next. I can’t really knock a short too much for leaving me wanting more, but it did take a bit of separation for me to accept that feeling. In the moment I wasn’t so sure.
