Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery
This was so good! All of these knives out films have a stacked cast but this one felt different. This had a sense that it didn’t have to live up to the big actors in the film and got to shine on its own as a whole story. The lighting and cinematography felt the best out of the series. So many twists and turns like the others, loved the small town and church setting for this one. This just felt different from the others. I need more knives out films, Benoit Blanc is the best detective!

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery
I never thought that I would see Hawkeye kill Thanos then Sandman over an expensive jewel that Cruella de Vil told him about. On a more serious note I thought it was just as good as the previous movies but it seemed a little long but I don’t know how they could shorten it. It felt like a classic knives out movie with a the reveals and twists.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery
Love the knives out seriesss. Though I was a bit uninterested in the beginning bcos I felt like it didn’t have that “knives out” vibe but as it got to the middle, I started to like it as its own story. This felt more deeper compared to the first two movies and I love that. (1/2)

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery
I wasn’t a huge fan of this film initially, it played with some dark themes of murder, pride, and dangerous leadership.
But the ending was really good and turned around to themes of grace and humanity.
A film review from “Cinema Therapy” opened my eyes to the brilliance of it.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery
A beautiful dissection of the basic murder mystery formula, with even more gorgeous religious allegory to match. Unfortunately, has the weakest ensemble of the franchise.

7.4/10; this was good, and so fun, someone things missing I feel, but still a good watch and great mystery. I def recommend.

Wake Up Dead Man is a mystery film with truly unexpected twists. A third film that slightly improves on the sequel, but is still far from the first 'Knives Out'.

Brooooo how do they keep doing this?? This is an AWESOME movie. I kind of didn’t realize how excited I actually was for this movie until I sat down and started watching it. And, as expected, it totally met those expectations I have for this franchise. Glass Onion wasn’t my favorite (I loved most of it, but the ending soured me a bit), but Knives Out is literally my favorite movie of all time — I can happily say that Wake Up Dead Man is MUCH closer to the OG for me. Such a great movie.
I love reviewing these because I literally have no idea what to say without spoiling it when discussing the plot. So, I’ll pretty much avoid saying anything. The only thing I will say is that I found the way it unfolds to be VERY satisfying. So, if you’re like me and disliked exactly how Glass Onion unfolded, this does NOT make those same mistakes. This is a fucking incredible mystery.
The characters are also so great. It’s been a while since I saw the first two, and I forgot just how funny and charismatic Daniel Craig is as Benoit Blanc. I think this might be my favorite performance of his in this series so far, because it was just SO MUCH FUN. I love how dramatic and over-the-top his performance is, and I LOVE his look in this movie.
The rest of the characters are also really awesome. Josh O’Connor plays such an interesting, complex, and sympathetic character, and it’s so fascinating seeing his story unfold throughout the movie. I won’t go through everyone, as those were the two standouts for me, but it’s a really good cast. Josh Brolin was awesome too.
I also found the commentary of this movie to be sooo interesting. The Cathloic church setting gave it the unique opportunity to say some really interesting things about Catholicism (it’s very integrated with the plot, so I won’t say anything more). I think it’s so impressive how Rian Johnson is able to make such a compelling mystery while balancing so many interesting characters AND being hilarious while still making incredibly pertinent points about religion and Catholicism. He’s such a good writer.
Ahhhh I want another one right now!! I literally hope they make these movies forever — I know a fourth one isn’t officially confirmed, but they seem into the idea and the fans would obviously LOVE it. But, either way, I’ll definitely be watching this one again.

I enjoyed the conversations around faith in this, since it also makes for what feels like the best character arc out of all the BB movies & well earned emotional moments. I always enjoyed how charming characters can be and how it never shies away from current day topics. If you…

They really do tie everything together. I guessed that Martha was in on it somehow pretty early and that the guy didn’t actually come back to life. Everything else had me guessing. But this is my least favorite of the three

Not my favorite and probably 45 mins too long - but I enjoy these movies a lot and think Daniel Craig is a boss

I love all these movies and this is another fun, eminently watchable installation. Over the top characterizations, slow burn - but not overly complicated - mystery, and makes its hamfisted commentary with high style and its tongue in its cheek. I hope we get a few more of these movies because they’re well woven, charming, and funny each time.

knives out has gone 3 for 3 for me so far
although i found this mystery's outcome to be a tad more predictable, that did not take away from my enjoyment
priest jud's story was really compelling to me and they explored the religions themes in a pretty interesting way

Really good as per usual. 7/10 great story telling with the lighting, sound, and dialogue. This movie is definitely great PR for Catholics. The way the story unfolds is so engaging

Really really good. A favorite of the year. Love most things Rian Johnson does. Smart writing, memorable characters, and a thoughtful and relevant meditation on militant Christianity as well as rationals on faith and belief. Can’t wait to see what Benoit Blanc gets up to next!
