The message about Colonialism definitely is conveyed, the acting is phenomenal, but it can be pretty slow at points. Still amazing (I’m just in love with Johnny Depp).

I know it’s based on a book, but weird choice to have the Empire and Barbarians be fictional places. It felt very far removed from the real world at times, even though it was obviously a commentary on Colonialism. Other than that decent, if slow at times. The acting was brilliant

Depp, Pattinson, and Rylance are good. Some beautiful Moroccan scenery. So so story. Slow and plodding. Not so great
