If only the timeline were in chronological order... I see why it's not, but I think I would have preferred it if it were. You can definitely sense Stone's direction, although it's a lot more character-driven than his other, more investigative projects. I'd also say it takes more of an unbiased view, as certain prolific events are hinted at and teased but never delved into. That's not to say certain facts aren't dropped like bombs. Decades upon decades later, America is still leading the globe with its problems, and Stone tells it straight. Great cast, great acting, great soundtrack, great dialogue, and great cinematography. It's a 'W' all around.
