Vengeance
absolute banger of a mexican film.
shoutout to my bro @alonsomontano who recommended it to me.
yes it’s in spanish ofc, but for all my gringos out there, just put subtitles it slaps.
cinematography is actually fucking incredible. that’s what stood out for me the most. spectacular camera work as well. great car mount & roller shots. especially during the high speed car chase.
phenomenal choreography & action sequences. u feel every single punch. great bloody vfx, some mid gore but not overly intense.
there is one real strong scene that they might have taken it too far. u need to watch it so you understand what i mean, but it had to be done so you understood how fucking psychotic & demonic the assassin was. at least that’s what i got from it.
chaparro & speitzer’s performance was amazing. they both fell right into character. it’s been a minute since i’ve watched speitzer in “dark desire” ( which you should also watch ) banger of a show.
not sure why the rating is so low but fuck the critics. this film hit home, quite literally. mi mexico lindo y querido.
storytelling was pretty good to me, & lot of twist & turns but it felt intentional. maybe your typical revenge film but they made it very artistic and i really fucked with that.

Vengeance is a clever dark comedy-thriller with sharp humor and an interesting mystery. It mixes funny and tense moments well, while also giving a modern social commentary vibe.

Good action, not enough though. Story’s alright. Movie seemed short.

8.1 Pretty cool for a Mexican movie. Have to give it props for its hand to hand combat. Love when movies do that

A good Mexican action movie
Of the few action films produced in Mexico, this one boasts high production values and a coherent storyline. It breaks away from the themes typically explored in Mexican cinema, and while it doesn't reinvent the wheel, it achieves-and exceeds-the most important goal: entertaining the audience.
As the name suggests, the film follows a special forces unit after one of its captains survives an assassination attempt. Knowing the culprits are within the army, he gives everything he's got to track them down and make them pay in blood.
The Highlights Action Choreography: Truly impressive. Being a pure action flick, the car chases and shootouts are constant and expertly executed.
Tone: It's refreshing that the film avoids the clichés it easily could have fallen into; for the most part, it maintains a serious tone.
The Drawbacks The only real downside was the cinematography at the beginning. It is far too dark, making it difficult to figure out who is who, where they are, and what exactly is happening.
Overall Verdict: Aside from those lighting issues, I really enjoyed this "guns-blazing" flick.
