I expected this movie to have only a few insane meme-worthy moments instead it was entirely batshit insane. Every scene, every piece of dialogue, every character choice. Pure insanity. Can something this beautiful be fully unintentional? A mystery unsolved.

Is this an award winning movie? No. Is this a classic? No. Is this movie in my top 5 and forever will be? Absolutely.

I watched this on the quest of watching every Nic Cage movie ever. This movie was unhinged af and deranged. It’s the origin of one of the most famous and iconic Nic Cage memes as well.

this movie is atrocious, every single acting choice and line of dialogue is outrageously inappropriate and ridiculous …but that’s exactly why it’s amazing
i absolutely love the unhinged performance that nic cage delivered, it’s a joy to watch and makes it all worth it

It’s darker than I expected. Got some weirdly dark for a supposed comedy. Cage’s performance is eccentric, but it feels more disturbing than funny.

Truly, what was this movie supposed to be? It’s too psychological to be camp, but too absurd to be a serious drama. I’m glad Nicholas Cage seemed to have been enjoying himself at least.
