V for Vendetta Reviews

I watch it every year on the 5th. A commentary on authoritarian government and how the people should rise up and take their power back

One of the best movies of all time seen it atleast over 10 times

The explosive adventure, the riveting visuals, Portman's powerful performance, and the striking finale combine for a thoroughly entertaining masterwork.

One of the movies to watch before you die

not sure if I didn’t like this movie for a good reason or just because it confused me

Would recommend. Always like a movie with a message

A simple representation of a anti-utopia with hints of ideas of George Orwell, Hannah Arendt, Sigmund Bauman and primitive anarchists (Saul Newman, for example) who understand freedom not in collective fundamentalism, but in total deconstruction of order.

This was an amazing cinematic experience, from the cinematography, to the acting, the script and the way that the story develops…that’s what a call cinema!

It kept me entertained, unfortunately you can feel the sign of the time on this one for me… the mask, it feels cringe now, maybe not back then, the dialogue, it’s very up front with you but still pretty scarce to be honest, it’s like when someone try’s to talk with big words to sound more intelligent, it just doesn’t feel right.

And I get the V stuff, at a points it’s just overdoing it.

I was expecting more, people gave me the idea it was going to be more.

And the message is great, it will be relatable forever i think… but I still feel there’s better ways to do it.

But that’s just me, the style doesn’t work too much for me.

Beautiful movie, it did a great job of streamlining the book into movie format while still hitting all the right beats. Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving both had stellar performances. The story was amazing of course and we’ve got the great Alan Moore to thank for that

I am happy

formal left in the middle of this

We could use a V in our society today tbh. Loved the dominoes scene very fun.

Watching this for the first time in 2023 and it’s a perfect critique of today’s world too. Crazy. I enjoyed it but some scenes went on a bit too long.

And this is how you make a revolution

Mi piace un sacco il personaggio di V, in questo periodo è sicuramente un film da recuperare

feels so distant, yet deeply contemporary

It’s okay but kinda boring
