The Social Reckoning

Thoroughly enjoyed the movie, especially the acting of all 3 protagonists. There is a debate presented because you are providing a platform for people to connect do you have a responsibility of what goes on there.

A very slow movie. I knew this going in but still. Ok story but I think told 10 years too early. The social network I think had more draw and weight because of the time in between in happening and the movie. Higher meh because it wasn’t bad but would not watch again

God this was bland. If The Social Network was a rapid fire machine gun this was a rusty bolt action rifle targeting a wolf. On one hand it is inoffensive, it simply talks at you for a couple of hours, over explains any semblance of what you should understand, and proudly tells you to shut up when you have questions. However an easy to follow, well told narrative does not immediately equal entertainment value, the more I reflect the more I realize how bored I was during this entire movie. Everyone talks with this faux intellectual typewriter pace and it gets really old really fast, think JAW in The Bear but tripled over onto itself, Mikey can’t keep up as well but still puts on a well formed character; however, my man Jeremy Strong, what the hell. This dude is playing a caricature, it is hard to take seriously, and it is hard to view rationally, it is a joke how bad this character is and how poorly he approaches it, and it’s hard not to imagine his… particular style of acting getting in the way of this performance. Towards the 2nd half of this film the content becomes evidently more real, the topics covered are sincere problems as the film enforces, but it is a bleak watch because of how truthful it is, and to this film’s credit I think it really stuck the landing, no matter how messy of a floor it left on its path. A disappointing sequel that does not stand in the same social circle as its predecessor. 3/5

They went ballistic with the technical lingo for the first half of the movie and then they tune down and make the movie more understandable. Nonetheless the script is brilliant, disturbing and worrying. Mr. Sorkin delivers as expected.

A lot better than the reviews were saying, Mikey and Jeremy deserve nominations for this one

great part ii of the social network.

although part i is still king.

amazing cast, i did find it a bit slow at times, i was still fascinated on how crazy this shit got. even tho i was on this planet i didn’t even have the slightest idea that facebook was the main reason behind the capitol attack in 2021.

the whole algorithm sending you to dark fb groups is so fucked. thank god i don’t even use it. haven’t even updated my profile since fucking 2013

crazy film, definitely could’ve been a bit faster paced but i still enjoyed it either way.

Really liked this, the writing is on par with the first one. Not as climactic as the first though. Jeremy strong was spot on as zuckerberg. Solid film

It was OK. Great material, but underwhelming in its deliverance. I was actually about to say that this shoulda been directed by Aaron Sorkin until I saw the credits — such bad direction and editing, what happened? It’s so unlike him. Also, the music is garbage.

was kind of censored in what it was saying, and didn't really focus on anything meaningful. not enough character, not enough story, just a weird focus on 2019 through 2021 policies that Facebook survived so...

If you’re looking for something similar to the first one, this is not it. The tech jargon used throughout gave me a headache. This is coming from someone who is detached from Facebook and if there is an arguable upside here, detaching from instagram now as well because of this.

Man, I really love this movie. Still I don’t think it was necessary to show Mikey’s feet at the beginning.
