I like a good 80s movie and this was just plain fun. Kinda a karate kid vibe without karate. New kid moves into a tuff area and picks a fight with the wrong gang. It’s got some great music and fun dance scenes too. Don’t trust the low ratings.

Lost count of how many times James Spader got his ass kicked in this movie - glad he got his lick back though

I was wondering why I’d never heard of this movie…now I know. Writing is atrocious, dialogue is amateurish, it’s like a weird blend of West Side Story and Footloose. The only good thing about it is Robert Downey. I love 80’s movies but this one wouldn’t have been good even then.
