Completely underrated.

“Tastes like a peach”

Watched again recently on 4k Blu-ray. It really holds up. So many names it’s actually insane. A little rough around the edges. But it’s a fun ride.

Criminally low rating for this movie

I was being super ignorant and judging this movie by its cover essentially and for the longest time avoided it like the plague for no reason, I finally took the plunge and holy shit what an enjoyable movie

Super fun, action packed, typical Tarantino craziness

the actors on this film are just wow. from christopher walken to gary oldman and dennis hopper. everyone involved is amazing. gary oldman proves his range. though christian slater is a bit too attractive to play clarence he still delivers. loved it. only problem was tarantino's idea of love. but if you could look past that, great film

9/10 Great film, cast and excellent script (as excepted from a 90’s Tarantino). Slightly annoying that the action scene are shot close up almost takes away the impact which I found in most Tony Scott films (unlike his brothers). Defo recommend.

I have true romance with True Romance. Every character in this movie is perfectly casted, written, and acted. It is engaging, compelling, suspenseful, and hilarious. Oh Mama!

Great acting, and great opening 20 minutes. Then the rest is pretty shit. Clarence is unlikable, she doesn’t give me reason to like her either.

What an insane cast, I mean I’m talking like 12-15 deep. The Hopper/Walken scene is incredible. And slater and Arquette are such likeable psychos haha I love it! And I haven’t even mentioned Gary Oldman yet!

True Romance is an amazing Action-Adventure movie, it hits all the boxes of being an absolutely amazing ride, from the cast, to the action, to the cuts, to especially the Tarantino writing. I didn’t think I’d enjoy this as much as I did, i genuinely cannot recommend this enough.

My only downside is the whole romance aspect of the movie, felt so underused, like it was supposed to be all cute and romantic, but there’s no scenes to help this other than the first time they meet, and there’s no music to help me feel for them.

1st Act 8.3/10 (Pretty mid outside of a really cute moment between the main two).

2nd Act 9.3/10 (Loved all bits of this, especially the phenomenally good acting from everyone involved.)

3rd Act 9.0/10 (Still amazing in most aspects, just wish we saw more of the romance stuff.)

Plot 8.1/10 (The romance Isn’t really delivered well, but the whole action bit is.)

Soundtrack/Score 7/10 (MUSIC? WHAT MUSIC?)

Acting 9.5/10 (No standouts but everyone in this is spectacular.)

Pacing 8.7/10 (Nice easy steady pace, could be improved for action purposes tho.)

Cinematography 7/10 (Mediocre at best but yk not bad like.)

Character Development 8.2/10 (Decent but yk the movie’s romance is poor when a side character has the best development.)

Writing 9.2/10 (Tarantino answered the call to this like motherfucking Batman.)

Ending 8.3/10 (Just alright, nothing too special.)

Direction 8.6/10 (It just needed some MORE GODDAMN ROMANCE.)
