Troll Hunter

It felt like I was watching Nat Geo Wild. The way the culture was incorporated added an unsettling vibe that really stood out. I loved how they villainized the trolls and made them truly ferocious

this had the potential to be a good movie however it was way too long, there were so many boring scenes and the end was so rushed

Rating: 7.4/10

Trollhunter is a clever, thrilling, and refreshingly original mockumentary that treats its fantastical premise with a hilarious and compelling sense of bureaucratic realism. Director André Øvredal delivers a perfect blend of monster movie, dry deadpan comedy, and Norwegian folklore.

Highlights
- Genius Premise: The screenplay is a work of genius, with a fantastic and endlessly creative hook.
- Iconic Lead: Otto Jespersen shines as Hans, the titular Trollhunter, a wonderfully weary and believable professional.
- Spectacular Visuals: The visual effects are incredibly impressive, with fantastically designed and animated trolls.

Criticisms
- Underdeveloped Characters: The student filmmakers are fairly bland and underdeveloped, serving primarily as the audience's point-of-view.
- Shaky Cam: The constant shaky-cam found footage style can be disorienting or irritating for some viewers.

Verdict
Trollhunter is a brilliant and wildly creative film that's a must-see for fans of creature features or dark fantasy. It's a perfect blend of spectacular monster action, dry deadpan humor, and fascinating folklore, making it a modern cult classic.

Troll Hunter

This is such a funny way to learn about Norwegian folklore. It's a comedy and not a horror though so idk why the tags are like that.
Love that it's filmed close to where I live lmao
