This movie is awful.

M Night has these good concepts and intriguing ideas but then he somehow just butchers the entire thing..

I feel scammed, this movie was clearly just trying to promote his daughters music, no?

I understand the setting is at a concert — but was it necessary to play every damn song she sang to its full length and focus only on that the entire duration of the song for multiple songs? I mean like 80% of this movie is just the dad looking like he has constipation and full performed songs by M Nights daughter… and then she goes to the killers house and performs another full song?!

Every time the tension built when focusing on the dad it cut away to a full solo act and people screaming which completely gets rid of all the tension that was just built and the cycle repeats.

The dad is suppose to be some masterclass psycho killer but doesn’t kill a single person — even the damn singer who was literally exposing him? What the hell?

Such a stupid movie and genuinely feels like a ploy to raise awareness to his daughters music because the story is abhorrent and the “twist” at the end is even worse and just so damn lame — also why did this movie have like 4-5 endings? Every time it should have ended it just kept going and only digging further into the bin.

This movie has me questioning if I want to waste my time with his OTHER daughters movie because if it was anything like this holy hell save me.

actually the acting was kinda as and if there was more violence or like gore it wouldve been better like if he killed like someone, the plot was good though i just wish there was more aggression

The stupidest fucking movie I’ve ever seen. And I’ve watched a lot of films. Please don’t waste your money on this. The acting was bad, the guy was obvious (and ugly), it was unrealistic in every way, and all that security but nothing was done right. Waste of a movie ticket. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

One of his better films but still felt like a lot was missing from the whole film. Josh hartnett killed the role but that’s about the only real good thing about it

HOW DOES HE KEEP GETTING AWAY?!?!

Yeah this is a masterpiece. Don’t understand the hate AT ALL. Feel like people are forgetting the fact that slasher style flicks always have that overarching sense of mystery that adds to the whole film, if done well. In my opinion, this film took the slasher genre and pushed it to feel different. Like an extension of what a slasher could be, but one that I’ve never experienced before. Not showing us any of the kills was refreshing in a strange way. I mean if Michael Myers gets a pass for all of his moments where he gets out of situations “somehow” why can’t Cooper?

That’s my thought process on this movie. I love the different shots where only one half of Cooper’s face is visible. Made me feel like I was in the moment with him and I felt the weight of his surroundings. Not that I agree with anything he was doing by any means, but as a film if drew me into it in a way that I haven’t really felt in a long while with a slasher/thriller.

The first two acts are solid, the third act was where I started to fear that if was going downhill only because they left the whole concert idea behind and I noticed there was still about 45 minutes remaining. But man it held up all the way until the ending. And that ending was the perfect way to end it. Cooper laughing felt like Joker getting the last laugh. When everyone else thought they won, Cooper was gonna get free still. I can’t type all the things I thought were great about this because it would take too long, but yes I’m that guy who loves Trap and I know I’m not the only one.

I would absolutely love if they did a follow up film, but also fine if it’s just this one. Especially knowing that the sequel would most likely not do well based on the reviews of the first one 🥲 if you haven’t seen this and you love slasher/thrillers or stuff in that same style, highly recommend you check this out. Might not be your cup of tea but you won’t know until you watch 😉

The main guy was so hot I would literally be the black guy with blonde hair if I also saw him

I swear I reviewed this one. It was good. Didn’t deserve the hate. Lead was great. Entertaining. No huge twist which was good. Just a fun watch.

How is this the same guy who made The Sixth Sense? Every interaction in this movie felt like it was written by AI. The whole T-shirt guy storyline would literally never happen. How are you gonna build a movie around your daughter and not even bother to ask her how young ppl talk?

Hey whatever Queue employee took down my review that was the top review of this movie, just wanted to let you know that im still mad about it.

Super inbetween on this one. Hartnett plays the role well & convincingly, but otherwise the acting was cringe. Plot was so unbelievable that it actually worked. 1st half was best. Honestly it was entertaining but an obvious, shameless plug for his daughter which soured it for me.
