Not an all-time great but Sidney Poitier is always a delight

Absolute cinema!

Was a really good movie. Didn’t know what to expect and was pleased with the plot and actors.

The first slow paced film I’ve watched that didn’t feel like it could have gone faster. It complimented the full bodied plot to let you digest themes. Race, identity, class, people, politics, authority were all discussed.

A classic. I think everyone should watch it.

A nice, heartwarming story that makes you smile as the end is rolling around. Sidney Poitier is excellent here, and it's an interesting historical snapshot.
