Titan: The OceanGate Submersible Disaster
This dude was so stupid. Sub was sounding like your granny’s knees when she squats and thought it was fine. Rip the innocent passengers but I lol every time thinking of that dude imploding

Titan: The OceanGate Submersible Disaster
generally, i think it's kind of distasteful to make documentaries on disasters so soon after they happened (such as the astroworld documentary), but i never had any respect for the people in the joystick controlled tin can in the first place so i was able to enjoy this just fine. very well made, great cinematography, well researched, and so on. at the risk of sounding like a pretentious film guy douchebag, this documentary excellently showcased the hubris of man. right off the bat, you find out that warnings were ignored and safety was deliberately compromised, which is incredibly ironic considering that those same things are what sank the titanic. i think the biggest takeaway from this event is that we consider ourselves to be so much better and/or smarter than people of the past that we don't consider ourselves to be capable of making the same mistakes as them, which leads to disasters like these. but also sometimes people with a lot of money just make very stupid decisions. oh well!
i was kinda disappointed that they didn't actually go into much detail about the implosion, but i guess there's not really all that much to say other than "the sub imploded and everyone died". it wasn't a drawn out event like the sinking of a ship, it literally happened in a second, so i can understand why they didn't have much to say on that.

Titan: The OceanGate Submersible Disaster
Excellent documentary and look at what happened leading up to the disaster that ultimately explains why it happened.
I would have liked to learn more about some of the others on board, as well as the mechanics of what happened, at the time of the implosion both to the vessel and topside.
I think once key investigations wrap we may see another doc that covers that. The abrupt ending kept this from being outstanding.
I hope the good to come out of this will be more restrictions on ocean exploration. Money and ego shouldn’t be all you need to put people’s lives at risk.
