3.5/5 - i teared up a bit but there was something about it that just didn’t hit as hard as i thought it would. the flipping back and forth between time was interesting though. his mandarin accent also threw me off a bit, but bonus points because he kinda looks like my dad

When I tell you this movie has so much potential I truly mean it, perfect story and setting as well, but the film spent way to much time on the past of the main character rather then the present, leaving the movie to have a very abrupt end when things were finally about to get wholesome.

But another way of looking at this film is “Your choices in life define how it’s going to turn out for you” if you don’t take the leap then your life may end up like the main characters of the movie where he regretted his life and his decisions he made, but he also didn’t regret trying to give his grandmother a better life.

It’s hard to grasp how much I relate to this film and the things it is trying to tell you, be it I wish it had more time and more scenes between him and his daughter I understand the premise of the movie.

I’m on the verge of “👍/❤️” but I’m going to have to give it a ❤️ because this story tells you one of sadness, regret, and moving forward”
