this movie suffers greatly from the lack of subtlety, the mystery is done so poorly and the writing is really bad, the only part to enjoy is nicolas cage's performance which is the only reason i watched it, i think he did the best he could

Apparently the original is more psychological, i think they could have maintained the cop being a devout christian in the remake.
I liked this film a lot, Nicholas Cage really has done every kind of role. A good psychological thriller, maybe i’ll watch the original.
