It's much better than the cover leads on. I really enjoyed the exploration of the lore of the whistler and the Cult of María Lionza. It all comes together nicely in the end.

Felt like something I’d seen before but it actually jump scared me so that was good but concept was just average

Venezuelan folklore, grief, a haunting setting — all there. Diane Guerrero delivers. But The Whistler mistakes slowness for depth. Everything scary happens off-screen. You keep waiting for it to wake up. It never does. ★★
