The Watchers

Tinkerbell would not stand for this type of defamation (iykyk)

Great film. Welcome back Dakota Johnson.

A dull, overcomplicated mess of a film. "The Watchers" never achieves the level of suspense or horror it wants to portray and instead ends up being bloated and bizarre. Terrible dialogue, boring plot twists, anticlimactic ending, all around a very dismal experience. 3/10

Rated: 5.3/10

I honestly watched to see if the twisty storytelling gene runs in the Shyamalan family. It’s meh; the creepy Irish forest setup is cool, but it gets bogged down by way too much explaining.

The Director's Eye (What Worked):
• The bunker setup with the two-way mirror gave me solid, claustrophobic survival vibes.
• Fanning grounds the crazy folklore premise with a raw, emotional performance.

The Friction (What Didn't Click for Me):
• The massive lore dump in the underground study dragged for me and ruined the mysterious vibe.
• The shapeshifting fairies reveal felt clunky and took away the scary unknown element.
• That final act back in the city felt super out of place and rushed to me.

The Verdict:
It’s meh. Watch for claustrophobic Irish folklore. Skip if heavy exposition dumps bore you.

Didn't like. Just that
