The Thing

i’m going to rate this movie on several parameters:
-the effects seemed a bit much at times (6/10)
-the way Kate was the final survivor (9/10)
-the homemade chili i made and enjoyed while watching this (7.5/10)
-my chances of survival (3.5/10)
-the ending (5/10)
total: 5.2/10

I thought this was pretty freaking dope. Absolutely not as good as the og, but it’s cool that this was basically a remake posing as a prequel because it followed A LOT of the same beats as the og, because they were going through the same stuff, just a little bit different.

4/10. Worse in nearly every way than Carpenter’s. The CGI, writing, and characters are quite bad. While it offers some flashes of something better or more unique, it executes these very poorly. If not for the groundwork laid by the other films, it would’ve scored lower for sure.

Compared to the original this was pretty mid. Definitely not terrible however. Felt watered down. The cg looked bad which negatively impacted the feel and the intensity of the thing. The characters were also stupid except the mc which was frustrating to watch. Very weak remake.
