The Thing

i’m going to rate this movie on several parameters:
-the effects seemed a bit much at times (6/10)
-the way Kate was the final survivor (9/10)
-the homemade chili i made and enjoyed while watching this (7.5/10)
-my chances of survival (3.5/10)
-the ending (5/10)
total: 5.2/10

I thought this was pretty freaking dope. Absolutely not as good as the og, but it’s cool that this was basically a remake posing as a prequel because it followed A LOT of the same beats as the og, because they were going through the same stuff, just a little bit different.

Compared to the original this was pretty mid. Definitely not terrible however. Felt watered down. The cg looked bad which negatively impacted the feel and the intensity of the thing. The characters were also stupid except the mc which was frustrating to watch. Very weak remake.

If you're watching it without ever watching the “original”it might be an ok film. The characters are too knowledgeable about an alien they have just discovered, lol. Also, they certainly couldn't compete with Garry's fabulous eyebrows; they had already lost in the first place.
