Alternating between philosophy and ruthless fighting in the Guadalcanal heights this movie is one of the best war film I've seen IMO

For a war movie its quite slow. When thers action its amazing. Also holy stacked cast, W cast, W acting, W movie

A torment to watch, but truly beautiful.
It clearly portrays the cruelty, injustice and endlessness of war.
Besides eg power games/ survival, the latter is mainly due to the literally ennnnndless duration.
Man, it’s so looooooooooong.., but worth it!
(Fm Meh to Love at very end)

This is perhaps the greatest movie about war ever made. It guts you by the end, you’re different, and perhaps for neither better or worse. 4.5/5
