This book scared me shitless as a kid
This is how you make a short movie and a proper adaptation. No bullshit, no wasted time, creative translation and narration if needed.
There needs to be more like this, not stylistically, but creatively.
Respect this a ton

I turned this on and found it captivating and utterly heartbreaking and beautiful. By the end the entire family was encapsulated and when it ended we sat in silence and just let it simmer before we began talking about it. Anderson was made for Dahls work.

Such a tragic story but at the same time had such beautiful scenes, a very good pearl to find

this is good. however, the single act story feels worse in Anderson's style compared to his general chapter structuring. it's great, but it just feels limited

Now this one was my absolute favorite out of all the three I watched and I loved this one so much.
It had a sad story behind it and the story was shown in such a good way which just makes me praise Wesβ filmmaking style even more.

One of the better Dahl-Anderson shorts. Still more of an Anderson fan than Dahl, though.

I honestly just love the story telling, animation, and cinematography more than anything else even if it was short. And I love Ralph Fiennes.
