The Sacrifice
It was good, i felt confused what was going on though but it made sense after when i read a breakdown of it. The use of water was brilliant, the fields around the house filled with puddles. Long drawn out takes, beautiful imagery, i felt a bit existential. Intentionally muddled.

Tarkovsky Binge No. 7: Tarkovsky’s final film and it is a profoundly beautiful and deeply personal look at faith and human responsibility

Wow, this is quite a film. The final ten minutes will stay with me, but art that intentionally "leaves it up to the viewer" has always seemed like a cop out to me. Ive often felt the same way about music that takes this approach. Im honestly not sure how my cynicism is warranted with this one; I need to think on it a bit. But yeah, quite s film

Really confusing, and I loved It. Andrei Tarkovsky never wanted that we understood his movies! It's philosophical, artistic, introspective, beautiful! I loved It!

On the outside, The Sacrifice seemed to me, to be a full career retrospective, but it couldn’t be farther from the truth. It feels like a full on mid-style transition. It feels like Tarkovsky at his most formally realized, I swear I felt every single cut deep in my soul

The GOAT’s final film. Cinema has peaked with Андрей Арсеньевич Тарковский and the art form hasn’t been the same since his passing. An inspiration to many. A true giant. Cinema is Tarkovsky and Tarkovsky is Cinema.
