2/15/26: I’m so shocked at how much I enjoyed this film, especially after hearing how it takes so many elements from Janis Joplins life. What a brilliant picture of a women given no opportunity to express themselves in an era that was so superficial and superfluous in heterosexual normative. Such cathartic and smooth acting from Bette Midler. Truly a fantastic and refreshingly realistic film
