What studio ghibli film is not good? This minimalist take is a silent meditation on our need for others, time and nature’s relentlessness

Not sure what I just watched. A guy impregnated a turtle (after killing it), neglected his (half turtle) son. He gets saved by his son and doesn’t even say thank you and then his son commits suicide (probably because the years of neglect)

There were touching moments, but weird

I still don’t get how after he killed her, she apparently fell for him and they had a kid…

It was a beautiful animation, i liked the aspect of the no dialogue. But to me it feels like it just lacks something, I didn’t particularly enjoy the story, i liked aspects of it or what it could’ve been…i can see why others would enjoy it, but its not for me.

13th film for my Studio Ghibli class.

Even though there was no dialogue you could indicate the French influence from the animation.

Idk what the red turtle symbolized, but the CGI was meh.

Anyway, I’m impressed with the story this told with no dialogue

Silent movie about immersive feelings familiar to many of us. Would remain my all time favorite, however I would choose to watch it once in while.
