fascinating insight on how corporations have sold motherhood & children back to us, going against nature & deep connection with our children. first 40 or so minutes really had me thinking about the politics & sociological impacts of that, but the story really fell off after that

Not bad but definitely not good! The whole movie felt like build up to a climax that never came. Nothing really happens and honestly now that I’m finished I’m just kinda left with the feeling that this was a waste of time. Does include some social commentary which had the potential to be emotionally impactful and thought provoking but ultimately just felt short. The only real reason I was able to finish this movie is because Emilia Clarke and Chiwetel Ejiofor, are great actors and really sell this idea of “the pod”. Overall, this movie felt like a weirdly optimistic, black mirror episode?

It reminds me of black mirror!! However, I find it weird. The fact that the baby develops in the pod🤔

this really made me think; mostly about the daunting horrors of AI, but also about how capitalism will eventually horde every single fathomable thing behind a paywall if left unregulated. i will say i agree with the consensus that this fell a bit short on making the commentary it set out to make, especially when it comes to reproductive rights.

Good but towards the end started to get annoyed. Ending felt a bit fake could’ve made it better by having them chase after them. There’s no way they let them get away with that without any consequences.

Was like watching an episode of Black Mirror.

I know i wanted to watch a dystopian movie but what the hell, this is just inhumane in every way

On an unrelated note: Werner Herzegovina narrated penguin documentary. “… heading straight toward the mountains some 70 km away… …but why?…”

I love emilia but this was not it sorry

I gave black mirror vibes… this will definitely be what society will look like someday but it’s nothing fantastical. Just ok. Good if you really have nothing else to watch

I was hoping for more drama and consequences- but very similar to black mirror (but not nearly as good).

This movie did an amazing job at portraying the conflict with AI running our world and throughout goes over very important topics when it comes to reproduction. It's very eye-opening and feels like ot could happen in the next couple of years. I would recommend watching.

was a little awkward at times but kept a light tone throughout the movie. pretty good but wouldn’t watch again; now i can say i’ve watched it.

Very bummed about this one. The beginning intrigued me because it had a “black mirror” vibe to it, but there was never a climax. Like literally nothing happens.

Pretty good. Interesting take on having children in the future, and of course the pod company is, well, a company. They don’t care about anything but their assets.
