Although this is meant to be an origin story, I felt like I learnt nothing. Except blood, father who doesn't understand evil but heals evil, more blood and french guy. The plot twists got me afew times, but most were ruined because I understood what was going on faster than characters could lollop their way into evil. The visuals could have been a lot better, but the casting makes up for it. Also, I didn't giggle through this, which I think is an achievement. Laughed at the comedy, stared blankly at the horror, danced through the jazz, and expressed afew kind words through the magic.

There are definitely some scenes that are really well done (like that plot twist- where all the nuns are dead- was executed v well). However, it lwk feels like an action movie w the one liners towards the end… idk

Idk why I didn’t like it when I first watched but it’s actually rly good.
