Some film scholars will hate this, but in many ways, after watching the “first cut” - it feels like a spiritual successor to Kubrick’s “Barry Lyndon” in style and tone. That’s just me though.

edit: so i decided that i love this film in spite of historical inaccuracies and romanticization. Q’orianka is captivating and i wish we spent more time with her. this movie is devastating for multiple reasons and left me empty.
