I watched it in English for a project and was surprised by how good it was. Normally Im not into book adapted movies or Bollywood, but the movie is funny and has a really strong message about your heritage and changing with the world you’ve grew away from.

Really great slice of life film about an immigrant family and child of immigrants’ experience living in America. Loved Tabu’s performance, she delivers subtly and nuances so well.

Fun fact: Mira Nair directed this (aka Mamdani’s mom ❤️)

I’m beginning to love every single film made my Mira Nair, they are something very special. Enjoyed all the scenes with Tabu and Irrfan khan, Kal penn was annoying and I didn’t really care for him much, his growth was lovely to see though.
