This is such a great mystery film in such a non traditional sense. Connery is attempting to discover who is committing murders in a small abbey. The killer is definitely not who you think and how they were being killed is definitely unique! A fantastic film!

the detective trope but make it the 14th century. honestly, so good. watched it for a class but enjoyed it very much. explores the censorship of knowledge and expression.

An strong adaptation of the novel. It captures the cold atmosphere of the monastery, the tension of the mystery, and the philosophical weight behind it all. What’s rare is that both versions keep their own charm. The book with its depth, the film with mood, faces and silence.

A misbegotten adaptation that rarely manages to justify its very existence.

A wonderful movie that brings religion into the mix of Sherlock Holmes, in the medieval times piece. It has some amazing ideas with how it talks about religion

they disgust me for most of the movie and i didnt understand the other half but i think it was a good storyline and i loved the ending. the parts i did understand were really good and contained amazing twist

Cool movie, I liked the message and theme of the movie and the setting was interesting. But I think what brings it down was that there were to many characters and they either never got their time to shine or a cool appearance, which made it hard to know who’s who. 6,5/10
