First Star Wars film in 6 and a half years… and it’s a three episode arc of the TV show that killed the franchise in the first place, well, along with the arrival of Disney +.

There’s honestly nothing of note to this film, it’s genuinely like binge watching 3/4 episodes of the show - which I would never have done at the best of times. The plot is basic, and never gives anything to warrant the film’s existence, if you were holding out for a “hidden plot” - you’ll be disappointed. Ludwig Göransson’s score is really quite good and I wouldn’t be mad if he’s the new John Williams for the franchise going forward.

Probably the most woeful cast list of all the Star Wars films, it was almost funny as the opening credits showed and it was just a bunch of no-names. Pedro does some fine voice work - as we know it’s not really him for 90% of it. Sigourney Weaver most likely shot her scenes in a single day. Why bother casting Jeremy Allen White, just to change his voice entirely. Bizarre stuff.

I’m impressed that Disney managed to make a film somehow worse than Rise of Skywalker. Perhaps not by the potential that film had, as The Mandalorian and Grogu didn’t really have any, but rather just how dull and weak it truly is.

i truly had a blast watching grogu & mando take on the hutts.

it’s very action packed. like way more than i had anticipated. it start us off with mando blowing up three ATAT’s.

when the dragon snake came out of the pit to eat mando i was geeked out of my mind.

beautiful cinematography. honestly better than the show imo, i think bc i watched it in IMAX.

so glad i didn’t watch the trailers bc i went into this blind. yes i watched the entire 3 szns of mando and yes i loved it.

i knew i recognized the voice of ardennian. no one else but the goat mr. scorsese

good plot or not, it was adorable to watch grugu fight and use the force more than he ever has.

him meditating to the force made me fucking smile.

fuck the haters. this was a great film.

slop wars: the foid and chud

Feels like they combined 3 episodes from the mandalorian TV show into one movie. Just zero stakes or flow & bounced around way too much. Also these bullets just fly around him and he’s seemingly invincible. I get his armor is strong but that shouldn’t mean he can 1v50. 5.0/10

the major ‘con’ I had with this is that you can tell they made the plot holes to make a plot 😭

This one felt more satirical than mainline. CGI and the practical effects are on completely different levels and it feels disjointed. The story is underwhelming and kinda boring. Watched it in two sessions. Could have been part of the show instead of a full movie. Action is meh.

From the perspective of a Star Wars fan this was just disappointing. From start to finish it is abundantly clear this is nothing more than a few episodes of a creatively bankrupt series poorly stitched together into a film with the main problem being just how corny it is with its constant over exaggerated sense of self hype. I genuinely do not think any of these executives understand that things are allowed to evolve, things are allowed to change, I’m tired of hearing the mandalorian twang literally every single time he’s on screen, I’m tired of baby yoda still not having any sense of character apart from cute puppet who loves his dad, I’m tired of these characters being given moments they just have not earned. It didn’t even look that good, the Disney bucks are clearly drying out, the music in general was good but the performances were so phoned in you could’ve told me this was AI celebrity voices and I’d believe you. But then again every single point I just made is made completely obsolete because I was cheesing like a mf whenever my goat Garazeb Orrelios was on screen, that is MY glup shitto. 2/5

I enjoyed it, it was nice to see a starwars movie after 7 years! The movie was fun, plot was really simple, but it had a bunch of starwars monsters that were cool! I liked the Dejarik Easter egg that was pretty sweet! Overall, it was simple! Definitely not prequel or andor status

i would die for baby yoda especially because he reminds me of my cat muffin. loved the hutt family storyline & some of the monster fights were scary especially in IMAX. couldnt stop smiling wished it was longer, i need 3 or 4 more movies with grogu truly can’t get enough

tbh never watched anything from star wars before so i had no idea what to expect

i genuinely loved this movie
it was so fun to watch
i’m not saying this bc im trying to be cool like i actually liked it
(yes mostly bc grogu is cute af)

Score was dope. My boy Ludwig be cooking. That dirty base house music playing on that fight planet got me going. This movie is a solid summer flick. Action sequences were great! Bummed out that it didn’t use any of the storyline building up to this point but I get that it was so it could be enjoyable for people who didn’t watch the series. Muscle Slug boy was dope. Need more buff slug

the score was probably my favorite thing about it. made it feel like whatever was happening was a lot cooler than it was. it looked really good sometimes too. that’s all I remember liking.

I appreciate that it was still a good time without the insider info of a series Stan.
