Was it trying to emotionally manipulate the audience? Some could say that but it worked on me as I was quite moved by it. The performances were devastating and the cinematography was often beautiful. I’d say this one is underrated.

It well preformed and deeply sad but I just found it a bit boring. I love the fact you’re watching two actors fall in love on screen and in real time in real life. But yeah not for me, the story isn’t strong enough

miss vikander deserves the whole world. Period dramas with beautiful cinematography are my favorite aesthetic but this hurt me.... I couldn't stop crying. I didn't think after "Blue Valentine" that Derek Cianfrance would dare make me cry I guess I was wrong eh

What a tragic story

9/10 story of “what ifs” and the reality of living with the truth. Beautiful shot and well told. No matter the outcome, this film was full of love. Worth a watch.

Beautifully sad.

So cute to know that Micheal fassbender and Alicia vikander fell in love while working on this movie. You could really see the chemistry and love onscreen. Otherwise rather mixed feelings on the moral dilemma of the story.

I’ll always remember that I watched this alone in the cinema theatre in an empty room and was so moved by the entire thing. It felt like a strangely philosophical watch but I think that’s because the writing was so wonderful

I cried so hard, the misfortune that this family falls upon is indescribable. The bad things that happen, one after the next. My heart breaks for Isabel. 💔 My heart also breaks for Lucy/Grace’s family too.
