Disappointed that it wasn’t a true story. Still a pretty cool movie. I feel like it was slightly long, but the idea was pretty intriguing. The acting was very good by everyone. It’s pretty gruesome at times, but only a few scenes. Overall a good watch, just a bit extended

i see why you hated everything after the cowboy party

Solid character study based on one of the most brutal African dictators of the 20th century. Great push and pull between McAvoy and Whitaker, with the latter fully embodying the physically imposing butcher of Uganda and snapping on a dime between charm and chilling ruthlessness.

Wow 8/10 must watch

insane watch, this slow-burn thriller will keep you on edge once the story gets to it’s peak, Forest Whitaker killed his role, appealing visuals, nicely paced storyline and the third act will make you go crazy, Dr Garrigan was dumb asf tho lmao.

Forest Whitaker is amazing in this movie as Idi Amin. It's a semi-fictional retelling of Amins government, with James Mcavory character being very naive at sometimes. It can be very dark at times but overall very good. 8/10

Nice portrayal of African culture. It has some disturbing scenes for sure.
Whitaker won the Oscar for best actor, tho I think mcavoys acting is a lot better.

Le début était bien et j'avais envie de savoir la suite. Puis c'est devenue très sombre et stressant et j'ai commencé à moins aimer. L'angoisse était trop forte et la scène traumatisante de la femme au membre cousue était abominable. Je ne reregarderais jamais ce film.
