The Lady from Shanghai

A very intriguing narrative full of mystery. The first half of the film feels quite slow, and at times it’s hard to understand why there’s so much mystery surrounding everything. The courtroom scenes included humor that felt very forced and silly. That ending… WTF.
Orson Welles, as always, delivers a great performance, but this time the screenplay didn’t do him many favors. Rita Hayworth is excellent in dramatic and suspenseful roles. I’d been wanting to watch this film for a while, mainly because of the famous amusement park scene where Welles is hallucinating.
As a fun fact, Welles doesn’t die in this film, which stood out to me since I’ve watched several of his movies where his character is killed or dies.

I mean, it's a great film, especially the third act with the courtroom scene and wall of mirrors. Orson Welles's Irish accent takes me out of it, and for some it may work, but not so much for me. I expect more from Rita Hayworth but her performance was good enough I suppose.
