Felt old and new at the same time. Nothing groundbreaking. Story had potential but ended up being lackluster. Felt like something was missing the whole time. Ending sucks. The actors all did a great job tho with what they had. Watch it if you’re bored other than that, skip it.

Good film.
Basically a metaphor of how lower classes are oppressed in the UK.
Set in the future, where the government want to eliminate all poor people.
Good character arc of the father and son becoming closer during the whole confliction between community and government.

Damn.. one of my faves 10/10. Kane robinson’s performance was chilling in this one. Great story + phenomenal writing.

30 minutes to long but I like the futuristic cyber punk vibes and the acting is good from Kano. Sometimes just felt like it didn’t know where it was going.

No plot, really wanted to like it but there wasn’t really anything going on. Understood the metaphors and stuff but the storyline wasn’t there. Good acting from most characters tho

The Kitchen
The film was nice looking, but nothing more.
It did not give an explanation on how the setting evolved, or why things were happening the way they were happening. While watching I asked myself many questions and the film never answered even one. There’s a lack of communication

Heavily derivative of the likes of The Hunger Games and Children of Men. Daniel Kaluuya directing intrigued me but I was left underwhelmed. It felt poorly paced for a film this short and it really lost me in the second act. There are far better films than this in the subgenre.

Very meh. Really wanted to like this as I love Kano. But there wasn’t much of a story. And it just seemed very bland all through it. Nothing really happened

The Kitchen
My oh my is this boring. I watched it because of one of the directors (Daniel Kaluuya). Went in with 0 expectations, and instantly, I was amazed by the special effects. I got 48 minutes into the movie, and it had gotten nowhere, so I turned it off. It felt a little too much like black mirror. Only this was trying way too hard. Pretty on the outside but empty within. Huge letdown.

The Kitchen
A dark, emotional and unified take on social justice and police brutality. Full of great acting from the cast, emotional moments and a sad ending. To me, I wish there was more depth to the story to make it more suspenseful, but was still a good watch. 7.5/10

The Kitchen
Nice black drama.

The overall feel of the film feels like a dystopian Top Boy which it achieved however in my opinion it lacked a good action packed storyline to make it enjoyable.
