The Killer
Didn't know if I could make it past the 20 min mark. Spoiler: I didn't. The stiffness and panning of the camera made me want to kill. It looks cool, the action looks great too. The overused slow-mo shots and lighting, the stunts and effects, it was great but the script, acting, and slightly stupid plot made me want to kill...even more. If this movie aimed to create a killer from pure boredom and aesthetics, then John Woo sir, you have achieved your goal. Overdone and overused yet surprisingly undercooked. I rather the quality was in the script rather than the lens.

In my opinion this movie wasn’t anything special and a lot of things were very predictable.
I liked the action and of course the actors were well selected but the story could’ve been more interesting.
Also some of the fighting sequences could’ve been choreographed better but oh well.
So overall an okay film that I wouldn’t watch again since it wasn’t entertaining enough for me.

Some fun, classic John Woo action sequences in here (the man is concerningly obsessed with filming slow-motion doves) and it's easy to root for Nathalie Emmanuel (a favorite Game of Thrones actress), but there are some very clunky / hokey scenes that just don't work.
