aww, my heart. paul mescal is seemingly always on a mission to make me cry. josh o’connor was lovely. this film was warm and familiar. everything felt like an ode to something else, and so much care was taken to make this film as sensitively provocative as possible. i recommend!

A very beautiful and melancholic film. I didn’t know that Lionel and David’s story was fictional, but that didn’t make the movie any less emotional for me. On the contrary, I really liked how it uses music and recordings as a way to explore love, memory, and loss.
I loved the cinematography, especially the landscapes and the natural photography. Everything has such a quiet, intimate, and nostalgic atmosphere. Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor also have such natural chemistry; their relationship feels delicate and genuine.
It’s not a movie for those looking for a fast-paced story, because it is quite slow, but I think that pacing helps convey what the film is trying to say. Sometimes a voice, a song, or a recording can preserve a memory long after a person is gone. 🎧
It left me with that bittersweet feeling that only certain movies know how to create.

Beautiful and sad story. Paul mescal soars again in a beautiful small performance. The middle drags in scenes that felt lost. Amazing yet simple cinematography captures a very real and lived in world

5.7/10 | Authentic in its time period and world staging roots. Cinematically interesting and fantastic stylization choices. Storyline is a bit meandering but makes sense in context. Felt often boring and sleepy. A bit too long, didn’t impact enough where it should

The cinematography is absolutely beautiful, it’s queer without it being ever mentioned. There just two men who love music. Hope this will go down as the brokeback mountain of my generation
