The Heiress and the Handyman

I usually find comfort in the predictability and warmth of Hallmark movies, but this film really missed the target. From the very beginning, I couldn’t get past the distracting wig on Jodie Sweetin—it became unintentionally comedic. The story offers almost no depth; the lead’s past is glossed over with vague mentions of wealth, deceased parents, and a loving aunt, but that’s all there is. We never get to truly understand her or what drives her. The male protagonist is even less convincing: he’s an impossibly ideal farmer who drops everything to help a stranger, yet his character is just as one-dimensional, with backstory limited to also being orphaned. Their romance lacks chemistry, and the plot unfolds without any challenges or surprises. Instead of the usual Hallmark charm, I found this movie bland, formulaic, and forgettable.
