At least there’s a decapitation

It wasn’t scary at all, there were some interesting special effects tho. I also laughed really hard at the bell scene 💀

i don’t think i realized until i started watching that this was an adaptation of the shirley jackson novel, which i love! the ambiance and setting are sooo good. catherine zeta-jones is the perfect theo

I liked the ridiculous house and Owen Wilson. But Nell’s character consistently reacts in puzzling ways. Effects could be better.

Really good movie, amazing story, loved it.

A complete butchering of the original novel, terrible writing, bad acting, on-the-nose metaphors and themes and the only sound I heard while watching this was Shirley Jackson turning in her grave.
