Really good film imo. Although, I went in with very low expectations. When the guys reached a gate to a gated community you would think it’ll be smart to turn around especially after one of the residents questioned it. They found out the hard way.

The Gates is a masterclass in suburban dread. James Van Der Beek is chilling in his final role, turning a gated community into a psychological pressure cooker. It’s tense, timely, and Mason Gooding is fantastic. A must-watch thriller that sticks with you. 🍿🔥

That opening scene was a total bait and switch. It promises a wild, gory ride, but the rest of the movie plays it safe with some pretty questionable choices. It has flashes of greatness, but the writer constantly backs away right when it gets interesting. 6/10 for me.
